Greetings from Knoxville on Day 4! Yesterday started out with a spirit of exhaustion but the Lord infused his strength throughout the camp as the day progressed on! A thunder and lightening storm closed down the afternoon outdoor festivities but it did not hamper the spirit of the students. They attended workshops that included topics such as how to walk into your calling, wacky Jesus lessons, healthy dating, evangelism and diversity. The evening worship experience included a heart surgery sermon delivered by Francis Chan that challenged students to ask themselves the question, “do you really love Jesus?” They were encouraged to confess the secret sin in their lives that keeps them from a purely intimate relationship with Christ.
Then the main event – headbanging, fist pumping, foot stomping fun as the Christian rock and roll band, Skillet, hit the stage to perform a spectacular show complete with firebursts and fireworks. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the show and demanded an encore that they didn’t get!
We appreciate your prayer covering and are seeing the fruits of your labor here in Knoxville. Following are the praise reports and prayer concerns as we approach the halfway mark.
“And we know that the prayers of the righteous availeth much.” James 5:16
Thanks again for joining us in prayer this week!
