“As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. Jesus did not let him, but said, ‘Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’” – Mark 5:18

After the Lord has touched our lives, we tend to desire that same experience over and over again. We desire to experience God in that exact same way, time and time again. However, we are called to live in a state of constant companionship with our Lord, no matter what our emotional condition may be. In fact, we are called to be in such a deep relationship with our Lord that we are to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17), that is, we are to be in constant fellowship with our Lord whether we are experiencing him on the emotional highs of the mountaintop, or the land of destitute and despair in the valley. He desires for us realize that he is with us always. And as we seek and find Jesus in every season of life, we must share our experiences with one another. Jesus had healed this previously demon-possessed man, and the man became desperate to see more, for he “begged to go with him.” The man had become so focused on the one specific experience that for him, that experience became Christ in his life. However, Christ sent him home to his family, to “tell them how much the Lord has done.” Jesus called him to share his experience, and that is what we must do as well. After the week CHIC is over, don’t be afraid to go back to “life as usual.” It is most likely the case that you have the opportunity to share with those closest to you in your life how much the Lord has done for you.

Reflect on what the Lord has done in your life this week, and then grant others the opportunity to hear your story.

How will you do this?

How will you share?
